I’ve been to many conferences for my shadow career, but nothing could have prepared me for how awesome Author Nation and Reader Nation were.
The seminars were chock-full of information from some amazing speakers, authors, and book coaches.
The keynotes were particularly impactful with talks from Drew Davis, Becca Syme, Lydia Scherrer, Willow Winters, Mary Stone, A.G. Riddle, J.D. Barker, and James Patterson, to name a few.
I got to meet a ton of other writers, as you might guess, and make some really great connections – Jeff Kerr, J.D. Barker, M.L. Banner, Levi Jacobs, James Blatch, Sascha Black, and J.F. Penn, who was one of the main reasons I even found myself at Author Nation.
Then there was Reader Nation, the book festival portion of the convention. Over 1,600 ticketed readers attended the event. And there were many avid fantasy readers who stopped by my booth. Connecting with readers and talking about books is one of the great gifts of this writer’s life. I swapped books with authors, saw some amazing booths, and got a ton of great photos for the event. We will be back in 2026.
