I am grateful for anything that helps to grow and promote the fantasy genre. And I don’t always enjoy everything the genre produces. I appreciate the creative people who breathe life into fantasy stories and fantasy realms. But sometimes the execution of those projects falls short. Sometimes woefully short.
Fantasy Fridays will be an exploration into my experiences and impressions with the fantasy genre. When I was first reading fantasy, I would look forward to Fridays as time when I could stay up late and read my favorite books. And also, as the gateway to the weekend where I could while away an afternoon continuing to read the story.
What makes fantasy so appealing? Why does the execution come off so good? Or so poor? What makes a good story? What makes us want to come back for more? Hopefully, these posts will carry you into the weekend with hours to spend with your favorite books.
